Dynamic, spirited performance, exciting looks, features to fall in love with and built-in safety and security. This is the essential sports coupe'. And this was our brief for the new Ford Puma.

Puma was developed by a team of dedicated enthusiasts and engineers who cut their teeth on the RS Cosworth. They know exactly what the coupe' driver wants and they delivered it.

Puma is the first Ford car designed solely on a computer, but then the team took to the road, testing, re-tuning and testing again. They optimised every facet of Puma's performance, handling and even the sound of the engine.

The end result is a true driver's machine that just has to be driven.

PUMA IN MOTION.

Underneath Puma's bonnet you'll find an electrifying 1.7 litre 125 PS 16V Zetec SE engine which can thrust you from 0 to 60 mph in 8.8 seconds. With fully Variable Cam Timing, a first for a car of this class, it delivers low end torque in a high-power engine, providing excellent top end performance and increased responsiveness in all gears. Puma's nimble chassis is tuned to ideally match its high performance 1.7 litre engine.

Every single element in the suspension was evaluated by Ford's Special Engineering team to perfect the overall sports feel, adding big 195/50 VR tyres, set wide to boost stability. To maximise driver control, responsive power steering and anti-lock brakes are standard.

PUMA IN EXPRESSION.

Sink into one of Puma's hip-hugging, power height adjustable, front sports seats. Grip the perfectly-weighted, perforated leather, sports steering wheel. Cast your eyes over the white sports dials, the inspired use of aluminium finish and you see the promise of a real drivers car. Then, as the beautiful, short throw aluminium gear shift slips you slickly through the close ratio gearbox, you know you're in a real drivers car.

Puma has all the great features you'd expect from a sports coupe' and there's also room for two passengers in the back, and your luggage.
