I was the proud owner of the Ducati Monster pictured below, but when I say proud, it was only because I had a Ducati. In truth the M600 Monster, while an OK bike as a first bike after passing your test, it ended up becoming a nightmare to keep it running perfectly.
The carburetors would go out of balance at the drop of a hat, and the power from the twin didn't seem to be the same from one day to the next, making it a bit of a handful at times. That, coupled with a crap turning circle and the worst brakes in the world, it was a wonder that I held on to this bike for so long.
I haven't got many photos of it for Del to scan, and now that he has bought me a HORNET, there won't be many more to follow. We were both off to the Isle of Man in June '98, and there are still a few rolls of film needing developed, so hopefully there will be a few new pictures for you to look at shortly.
