This is the first set of Crowtree leathers I had made for myself, and they are still in use today. The design may not be to everybody's taste, but at the time I came up with the design I was riding about on a Pink and White YZF, and I remembered seeing the "PIGGY" logo in "Performance Bikes" magazine, and thought that it would certainly get me noticed in a crowd. They certainly do that! I always get dirty looks from the traffic cops when wearing these!

The suit design differs slightly to that of Crowtree's new suits, but only in that there are new Kevlar panels in the crotch area, to make life even more comfortable.

These are the leathers I was wearing when I was hit by a Mazda head on, and bar the few scuffs to the elbows, bum, and shoulders, they are as good now as when I first picked them up. They came back from Alec and Linda, having just received a clean and feed, and as I said, good as new. Trouble I have now is deciding which set to put on in the morning as I now have a second set. These are shown below.

These are my other set of Crowtree leathers. The design is again loosely based on another cartoon character that appeared in "Performance Bikes" magazine, but with a couple of little changes, and the rest of the suit just sort of "happened". I hadn't actually intended on getting the second set made, but you know the old story. Money burning a hole in my pocket and I could now have a set to wear on the slightly colder days. The Piggy leathers are fully vented up the front, and I decided not to have these perforated, so they are a little bit warmer on that count.

The bright fluorescent yellow Kevlar panels at the back of the knees & crotch and the "Crowtree" logos down both arms and legs, help to brighten the suit up no end, as does the red stretch panels above the knees and on the back. But there was still something missing, so we decided to split the arms half and half with red and black leather. All in all a very loud pair of leathers, and very easy to follow in a crowd of bikes during TT week at the Isle Of Man. Just ask Andy Baxter, the owner of the YZF750/1000 conversion detailed else where on the site.
